Q5 : How much and when would I receive my allowance?
A5 : You will be paid an allowance of $750 per month during the CSIP. This allowance is a token to help you defray the costs of participating in CSIP. Overseas students will also receive a flight allowance in addition to the monthly internship allowance. Since CSIP is for 8 weeks, pro-ration of allowances beyond 1 month will be based on a standard 30 days per month. Example: Assuming CSIP is from 11 May to 5 Jul and you attend the full CSIP:

Period Duration Allowance
11 May - 10 Jun 1 Month $750
11 Jun - 5 Jul 25 Days 25/30 * 750 = $625
Total Allowance for the period 11 May - 5 Jul 2006 = $1375

The internship allowance for the CSIP will be disbursed to interns in two payments, with one payment mid-way through the programme and one payment within 4 weeks after the end of the programme.
